Buffalo man pleads guilty to fatal January 2023 shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty Friday to fatally shooting a man in January 2023, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Louis C. Goforth, 39, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree.

Authorities said Goforth fatally shot a victim with an illegal weapon in the early morning of Jan. 22, 2023 on the 200 block of East Ferry Street.

The victim, 39-year-old Mario Saddler, died at the scene.

Goforth is scheduled to return to court on March 25 and faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. He continues to be held without bail.
