Buffalo man pleads guilty to receipt of child pornography
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography after engaging in sexual communications with an 11-year-old girl, the United States District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Officials said between July 8 and August 2020, 29-year-old Odilio Gonzalez communicated with the minor female victim using Instagram, where he persuaded her to create sexually explicit images and videos of herself and send them to him.
Gonzalez also received child pornography through the internet, which he saved on his phone and in social media accounts, the district attorney’s office said.
A total of 30 images and 89 videos of child pornography were found, with some containing depictions of violence against children.
The receipt of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 20 years and a $250,000 fine.
Gonzalez’s sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 15.
