Buffalo man sentenced for stealing from Walden Galleria, allegedly threatening security with knife
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was sentenced to five years of probation after stealing from the Walden Galleria and threatening security with a pocketknife, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
According to officials, 47-year-old Hector Colon forcibly stole merchandise and two fragrance sets worth a total value of $330 from a department store in the Walden Galleria around 4:18 p.m. Nov. 25, 2023.
The store’s asset protection officers confronted Colon as he exited the store. Colon allegedly threatened them both with a pocketknife before fleeing the scene. He was apprehended by Cheektowaga Police a short time later.
Colon pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree robbery in May. He is prohibited from entering the store with a final stay-away order as part of his sentence.
