Buffalo man wanted for North Carolina murder arrested

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man wanted for a North Carolina murder was arrested here Saturday following a domestic incident, the Buffalo Police Department announced.

Around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding a fight on the first block of Huntington Avenue. Differing 911 calls allegedly referenced an assault, a gun and a potential stabbing. When officers responded to the call, they said a male was hostile and threatening towards them, and attempted to obstruct the investigation.

Officials said it was discovered during their investigation that the man, 23-year-old Craig Lynch, had active murder, attempted murder and robbery warrants out of Wilmington, North Carolina from earlier in the week.

Lynch was charged with one count of obstruction of governmental administration. He is currently being held at the Erie County Holding Center pending extradition to NC.
