Buffalo Police: Scene cleared after bomb threat at DEC office

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo Police asked the community to avoid the vicinity of 700 Delaware Ave. late Monday morning due to what officials said was a bomb threat.

Authorities said the city’s K9 unit conducted a thorough search of the premises and the building was cleared.

Officers responded to the scene of an incident at that address around 10:45 a.m. The location is between Summer and North streets just north of Allentown.

The building at that address is the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Region 9 headquarters.

Police are actively investigating the incident and said they are looking into possible connections to similar threats reported across the state.
