Buffalo teen charged in connection with school threat made on social media
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 15-year-old Buffalo male was arrested and charged Wednesday in connection with a school threat made on TikTok on Monday, the Buffalo Police Department announced.
The FBI and New York State Troopers were notified by TikTok of a user making a school threat. Buffalo Police were notified and immediately began an investigation that led them to a Mariner Homes apartment.
A Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order was put in place and a Glock 19 handgun was recovered during the search.
The 15-year-old was charged with one count making a threat of mass harm. A 33-year-old Buffalo woman, Yaireliz Santana Garcia, was charged with one count criminal possession of a firearm.
