Buffalo teen charged with fatally shooting victim inside Grider Street residence

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo teen was arraigned Wednesday and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting in the Delavan-Grider neighborhood, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Officials said 19-year-old Thierry Bikorimana is alleged to have intentionally shot 44-year-old Demarkus Hodge on Dec. 10, 2023 inside a residence on the 300 block of Grider Street. After the alleged homicide, Bikorimana is accused of stealing the victim’s television, vehicle and a BB gun.

Hodge was later found deceased by police in the basement of his home.

Bikorimana was charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of petit larceny. He faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

Bikorimana is scheduled to return to court Feb. 27 and continues to be held without bail.
