Cara Delevingne’s Ditching the Runway for Hollywood! Watch Her “Paper Towns” Trailer
Cara Delevingne only walked in the Chanel show throughout all of fashion month, making the model’s 10 million Instagram followers and even more fans anxious for their Delevingne fix. But, there was no need to fret, as the It-Brit was just prepping for her foray from fashion to film, making her that much more omnipotent. The 22-year-old, who also has a supporting role in the Amanda Knox film The Face of an Angel, will star in Paper Towns, the adaptation of John Green’s famous YA novel.
The trailer was released on Thursday, and while were used to Delevingne’s bushy-browed, pizza-suit and face-mask bearing antics, the model-gone-actress nails it. Playing sensitive teenager Margo Roth Spiegelman (with co-star Nat Wolff as Q), her American accent is even convincing. Seeing the seasoned model on the big screen seems awkward at first, but Margo’s “girl next door” character and tomboy style is befitting to Delevingne’s real-life casual-cool “I don’t give a sh!@#” guise.
We should’ve known that Delevingne was a movie star on the rise. She scored Breakthrough Actress at Elle’s Style Awards in London in February even before anyone could get a chance to kick back and watch her in Paper Towns, set to hit theaters on July 24, or in Suicide Squad, where she’s slated to work alongside Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto.
If she can bring tears to our eyes with just a trailer, her domination of the acting world is surely imminent.
