Charleston restaurant Hank’s Seafood opening Columbus location
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An acclaimed South Carolina seafood restaurant is coming to Columbus with its second location.
Hank’s Lowcountry Seafood & Raw Bar is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Charleston restaurant with a significant milestone: a new location. The new restaurant — the seafood joint’s second — will be located on the corner of High and Gay Streets in Columbus.
Bar and grill adds location in Grandview Heights
Hank’s menu includes dishes such as Seafood à la Wando, Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail, Bouillabaisse and more. The restaurant will also serve cocktails and offer a dining room, a large private dining room, and a lounge.
The new Hank’s building is owned by Edwards Companies, which maintained its commitment to playing an active role in the development of Columbus. Specifically, bringing vibrancy to the corner of High and Gay was highlighted in a news release from Hank’s Seafood.
“Here, residents, businesses and visitors can all be delighted by the culinary, artistic, and retail experiences, and it is a natural choice to have Hank’s Seafood as their tenant that shares their vision,” the release said.
Originally opened in 1999, Hank’s is known for its caught-that-day entrees, which helped it earn Best Seafood Restaurant honors from a Charleston newspaper for eighteen consecutive years.
Hank’s new location in Columbus is expected to open its doors in spring 2024.
