Chautauqua County Resource Center bus crashes into residence, injures 8

(WIVB) — A Chautauqua County Resource Center bus crashed into a residence Monday morning leaving eight people injured, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 7:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 5 in the Town of Sheridan. It was determined that Kevin J. Easterly, 62, lost control of the bus containing eight individuals, according to the sheriff’s office.

The bus crashed through 2 fences then into a residence. No one from the residence was injured.

Seven people were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital and one was transported to ECMC.

Easterly was issued traffic citations and will appear in court at a later date.

The Chautauqua County Resource Center provides services and support for those with disabilities.
