Chautauqua County man admits to aiding kidnapping in connection with PA murder
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Falconer man pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting kidnapping in connection with a 2014 murder, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
According to officials, 38-year-old Anthony Neubauer, along with co-defendant Matthew Rudy, allegedly kidnapped Joseph Anthony by offering him cocaine and traveled with him from Jamestown to Rudy’s property in Pennsylvania.
Neubauer and Rudy believed Anthony to be a cooperator, officials said.
The pair allegedly shot and killed Anthony once they made it to Pennsylvania. It is alleged that they then buried him on Rudy’s property, according to officials.
Rudy was previously convicted and is awaiting sentencing.
Aiding and abetting kidnapping carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Neubauer is scheduled to be sentenced on January 15.
