New Chick-fil-A coming to Brevard Road in Asheville, replacing Ryan's Buffet
ASHEVILLE - Ryan's Buffet on Brevard Road will "officially" be replaced by a new Chick-fil-A restaurant, according to resubmitted plans with the City of Asheville, after a monthslong game of "chicken," in which the company gave conflicting stories on whether or not the new shop was coming.
Ryan's Buffet was torn down last week, leaving an obvious hole on the busy road. Construction comes after permits were issued by the city earlier in August, according to planning documents submitted with the city.
In 2022, the Citizen Times reported that the location would become a Chick-fil-A, though earlier this year Chick-fil-A stated they "have no new locations to confirm at this time" in the Asheville area.
The plans for Chick-fil-A have been resubmitted multiple times, though an August 2023 resubmission indicates that a Level I planning permit was granted by the city along with construction permits, allowing the construction process to move forward.
There is no set opening date indicated in the planning documents for the Chick-fil-A on Brevard Road, near the Asheville Outlets.
The new building is set to include an expanded parking lot, along with a double drive-through.
Currently, there are four Chick-fil-A locations in Asheville and one in Arden.
