Chick-fil-A opening day announced for Brevard Road: What to know

ASHEVILLE - More chicken sandwiches, waffle fries and ice-cold lemonades are heading to Asheville diners.

Chick-fil-A has announced the opening day of its newest Asheville restaurant as May 9 at 970 Brevard Road.

The Brevard Road Chick-fil-A, at the site of the defunct Ryan’s Buffet, which was demolished last fall for the new construction, features a double drive-thru and expanded parking lot.

Opening day service will begin at 6:30 a.m. for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out.

The regular hours will be from 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Saturday.

Customers may order pick-up, dine-in or third-party delivery using the Chick-fil-A app or website, chick-fil-a.com.

Chick-fil-A reported that nearly 85 full-time and part-time jobs were generated for the Brevard Road location, operated by Grayson Tanner.

In 2008, Tanner’s Chick-fil-A career hatched as a team member in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It developed over the years through a series of leadership roles at various locations and he progressed to owner-operator in 2017.

“From starting as a Team Member to fulfilling my dream of becoming a local Owner-Operator, every step of my time with Chick-fil-A has been incredibly rewarding,” Tanner said in a news release. “What excites me is the chance to share that same rewarding experience with others and be a positive force in the local community right here in Asheville. My vision extends beyond just serving delicious food; it's about creating meaningful connections with my Team Members, neighbors and our Guests.”

Chick-fil-A reportedly has 50 restaurants in the Asheville area market and more than 3,000 restaurants in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The company, founded in 1967 in Atlanta's Greenbriar Shopping Center, announced plans to expand into Europe and Asia by 2030.

In honor of the Brevard Road restaurant’s opening, Chick-fil-A donated $25,000 to Feeding America’s food bank partner MANNA FoodBank to support local hunger relief efforts.

The restaurant’s surplus food will be redirected to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need as a part of the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which has donated food from more than 2,000 U.S. and Canadian restaurants to create more than 25 million meals.

Also, Chick-fil-A Brevard Road will provide free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year to 100 local heroes in recognition of their impact in the Asheville area.
