Chris Scanlon sits down for first ‘Ask the Mayor’ interview
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — WIVB News 4’s Kelsey Anderson sat down with acting Mayor of Buffalo Chris Scanlon for his first “Ask the Mayor” interview on Wednesday.
Scanlon assumed the role of acting mayor after former Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown resigned to accept the position of Western Region Off-Track Betting’s president and CEO earlier this month.
He kicked off the interview with speaking about the community’s wellbeing and his goal of making sure the city is clean, safe, healthy and innovative.
Scanlon went on to talk about the community’s engagement in the $1 billion Queen City Clean Waters initiative, which he and the Buffalo Sewer Water Authority introduced on his second day in office.
Anderson asked Scanlon about his thoughts on the Kensington Expressway Project as it remains at a standstill and whether the Braymiller Market in downtown Buffalo will survive or close.
Lastly, he spoke about his appointment of Brian Gould as the city’s new deputy mayor.
