Church’s Chicken employee shot to death outside restaurant
MEMPHIS, Tenn — An employee at Church’s Chicken was fatally shot outside the restaurant Monday night, Memphis Police say.
At around 9 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at Church’s Chicken at 2963 Park Avenue in Orange Mound.
Police say the female employee was working when a woman with purple hair came through the drive-thru and they began arguing.
The woman, who was driving a teal-colored SUV, drove off the lot; the victim walked outside to get some air.
A few moments later a gunshot was heard and the teal-colored SUV was seen on video speeding off the parking lot. According to MPD, the victim was found outside of the business.
She was taken to Regional One, where she later died.

No arrest has been made.
A spokesperson with Church’s Texas Chicken said the employee had been with the company for about a year. They sent this statement:
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our team members. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family during this difficult time. We are working closely with the Memphis Police Department on their ongoing investigation and we ask that if you have any information, please contact www.crimestopmem.org immediately. Our location at 2963 Park Avenue will be closed for the next few days as we address the needs of the victim’s family and our team members.”
