The Circle's James explains who real Sammie is and if he will meet her
The Circle star James Doran played a rather good – if controversial – game during his time on the Channel 4 series.
The contestant catfished as single mum Sammie while on the show, though divided viewers towards the end with the 'Circle of Trust' he created with Paddy Smyth and Georgina Elliott.
In the end, the alliance didn't pay off for James, who ended-up coming joint third with viewers' champion Tim Wilson during last night's (October 18) finale, as Paddy took the crown.
However, controversy aside, the question on many fans' lips has been just who is the woman whose photos James used, especially as he admitted in his exit interview last night that he didn't actually know her.
Elaborating further exclusively to Digital Spy, the contestant said of creating the 'Sammie' persona: "It was originally based on somebody very, very close to me, but towards the end it was decided I was not gonna use them photos.
"The person who it was would have been too uncomfortable. But they [the producers] still wanted me on there and I was given an option to use somebody I didn't know.
"The three closest women in my life helped me and they lived in that situation, two of them are living in that situation now."
So will he meet the real Sammie? "Without a shadow of a doubt," he continued. "I wanna give her a big hug and blow raspberries on Charlie's face. I love babies, I love children!"
James also opened-up about why he appeared nervous during his studio interview, recalling: "Overwhelming was the word. The first thing Emma [Willis] said to me was there was a [public] divide over me and I thought 'uh-oh'.
"But it's all love, it's fine. I've never been on live TV before so it was a shock to the system, But all the players love me to bits, at the end of the day that's all that matters."
