City officials expect greater economic turnout for this year’s CelebrateErie

City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember’s weekly press conference Thursday morning focused on CelebrateErie, which is creeping up on us faster than you might think.

The three-day festival showcasing the region’s art, food, culture and music kicks off on Aug. 16.

Lots of funny business in store as the 2024 Lucille Ball Comedy Festival kicks off

Headliners include One World Tribe on Friday, Wheatus and Jimmy Eat World on Saturday, Aug. 17, and Gabby Barrett on Sunday, Aug. 18.

“In both 2018 and 2019, the Erie County Data Center conducted a study that showed that Celebrate Erie generated $10 million of economic impact for the Erie region. We believe that economic impact will be even greater this year and we are committed to keeping focus on our local businesses to support their growth and their expansion,” said Mayor Schember.

CelebrateErie fills up five blocks on State Street, from Fourth to Ninth streets and will feature a market with more than 40 vendors.
