On Tuesday, Coach announced that Lady Gaga’s French bulldog, Asia, is the face of its new Fall ad campaign, so that evening, at the company’s annual High Line summer party, everybody was trying to figure out how to get their pets a modeling gig, too. “My dog is very Coach,” Chloe Grace Moretz declared.

Kiernan Shipka thinks her dogs, Rosie and Buddy, would better represent a different type of product. “One of my dogs is a rescue, and he’s got this one floppy ear, and in every photo, he just looks so adorable,” she said. “And then one is just really springy - she’s nine, but she’s just so energetic. “They could do tennis balls,” she decided, laughing. “I would say that’s probably a key demographic.”

Kate Bosworth has two hunting dogs, and she dreamt up a campaign for them on the spot. “They’re sighthounds. Maybe that could be part of it, because they point, so that could be it, they’re pointers,” the actress said, concluding that they’d be perfect models for Hunter boots. “Their names are Sissy and Happy: Sissy and Happy for Hunter. You can pitch it if you want,” she told us.

A bonus for any fashion brand, Bosworth says, is the fact that her dogs do not chew on clothing. “They’ve never ruined anything, I’m lucky,” she said. Shipka says hers don’t tear up garments either, although one is fond of shoes. “If there is a shoe on the ground, she loves to carry it around, but she doesn’t chew it,” Shipka said. “It’s really weird, she, like, cares for the shoe.”

Moretz’s dog also loves shoes. “I had snakeskin shoes, and my dog ate the shoes,” she said. “Ate them! I was so angry! I had just bought them on sale, and I had never worn them.” And this dog got very excited in a shoe department. “We were at Barneys, and my dog pooped in the middle of the shoe section,” Moretz said. “And I had no poop bags, I had nothing. And I had to take one of the Barneys bags, and scoop it into the bag.”

Fortunately, according to Coach’s creative director Stuart Vevers, this puppy powwow is just the beginning. “It’s a series,” he told Yahoo Style but remaining mum on which other celebrity dogs are involved. “It was one of the most surreal shoots I’ve ever been on,” he continued about the shoot. “You can imagine, Steven Meisel, all these pups; it was surreal, but brilliant. And all of the owners left their pups in capable hands, people they trust, none of them were on the set.”
