Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association raises money for local veterans in need

Red River Harley-Davidson of Wichita Falls played host on Saturday to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association cookout.

Local veterans grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and more. The money raised from this cookout will be donated to veterans programs to help take care of a few problems that local veterans may have.

"Everybody needs help," James Sherrill, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association member, said. "And we're so lucky to be able to be up here amongst all these other veterans."

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association also partnered with the Daughters of the American Revolution to help them build the Vietnam Veterans Monument out at Lake Wichita.

"We had one of the very best burger burns out here at Red River Harley, and we donated an excess of $3,000 dollars to help build that monument," Sherrill said.

The CVMA diligently works to raise and donate money to other veterans throughout the years.

Sherrill said the cookout, along with raising money for the monument, is just another way to give back to the Vietnam veterans and get the respect that they deserve.
