Concealed body discovered on Wisconsin property cues suspicious death investigation, mother and son both missing
STRONGS PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – Law enforcement discovered a concealed body at a central Wisconsin home after finding evidence of ‘digging’ or ‘burying’ during a welfare check for a woman who wasn’t heard from in days, authorities are also looking for her son.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies got a call the morning of Thursday, June 27 around 8:20 a.m. where the caller stated that they had not heard from 62-year-old Sharon K. Miller for three days.
The caller also stated that when they went to Miller’s home in Strongs Prairie, both Miller and her son, 37-year-old Jami L. Lumby, were not there.

Deputies also did not locate either Miller or Lumby when they arrived at the home to investigate. However, during the welfare check deputies found evidence of a “recent ground disturbance consistent with digging or the burying of something on the property.”
After a search warrant was obtained, an unidentified adult body was found to be concealed on the property. It was not noted in the release where or how the body was concealed.
The circumstances around the death are still being investigated and as of June 28, an autopsy has not yet been performed. Deputies did note that the death had been deemed suspicious.
Authorities are currently seeking information about Lumby’s whereabouts and anyone who may have had contact with Miller since Monday, June 24. Those with relevant information are asked to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 1-877-885-7786, or through an anonymous tip.

In a second release on Saturday, June 29, deputies asked those living near CTH J, CTH N, CTH Z, and STH 21 in Adams County to contact them if they have any exterior cameras. The map of the deputies’ focus area is pictured below.
