According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies got a call the morning of Thursday, June 27 around 8:20 a.m. where the caller stated that they had not heard from 62-year-old Sharon K. Miller for three days.

The caller also stated that when they went to Miller’s home in Strongs Prairie, both Miller and her son, 37-year-old Jami L. Lumby, were not there.

Deputies also did not locate either Miller or Lumby when they arrived at the home to investigate. However, during the welfare check deputies found evidence of a “recent ground disturbance consistent with digging or the burying of something on the property.”

After a search warrant was obtained, an unidentified adult body was found to be concealed on the property. It was not noted in the release where or how the body was concealed.

The circumstances around the death are still being investigated and as of June 28, an autopsy has not yet been performed. Deputies did note that the death had been deemed suspicious.
