Congressman Troy Carter announces $15M in grants for New Orleans East, Ninth Ward

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Congressman Troy Carter announced almost $15 million for New Orleans East and the Ninth Ward.

New Orleans Police Department to get records management system upgrade

According to Carter, the grants will go toward various projects across the area including building a bridge on Hayne Boulevard, restoring access to Lincoln Beach, transportation improvements along Morrison Road, improving the Sankofa Wetlands Park and a public athletic venue for the Ninth Ward.

The grants are part of Community Project Funding requests.

Carter made the announcement at a news conference on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
