Conservative Pundit Reality Checks Donald Trump Fans With ‘Brute Fact’ About Debate

Conservative pundit, Fox News contributor and former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy slammed Donald Trump’s debate performance in his latest National Review column ― which was damningly titled “Trump’s Trainwreck.”

“If you’re obsessing over how bad, how in the tank for [Democratic nominee] Kamala Harris, the two ABC news moderators were, it’s because you don’t want to come to grips with the brute fact that Donald Trump was a disaster last night,” McCarthy wrote.

The former president and current GOP nominee was “unhinged, often incoherent, incapable of completing thoughts and sentences when he had points to make, and led into self-absorbed rabbit-holes,” he continued.

Trump failed to complete his only task of staying “on message about Harris’ dizzying renunciations of her positions,” McCarthy added.

He later noted Trump’s “terrible” performance in the first 2024 presidential debate in June against President Joe Biden that didn’t attract as much attention as Biden’s disastrous turn, which ultimately led the current president to abandon his reelection campaign.

McCarthy also described the Biden-Harris administration as “so bad” but repeated his prediction that Trump will likely not win back the White House in November.
