Coroner: Pedestrian killed on Deans Bridge Road in Augusta

A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning while walking on Deans Bridge Road in Augusta.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was attempting to cross Deans Bridge Road and Lyman Street when he was hit by a vehicle, according to a news release form the Richmond County Coroner's Office.

He was pronounced dead on the scene just after 12:30 a.m., according to the release.

The man's identity will be released once the next of kin has been notified, according to the coroner's office.
