Coroner releases identity of body found in Augusta home's backyard

The Richmond County Coroner's Office recently released the identity of a body found Monday in an Augusta home's backyard.

Chandra Buffington, 47, homeless, was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:15 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the coroner's office. An autopsy has been scheduled.

Bluffington's body was found at a vacant home on the 3000 block of Abelia Drive, according to previous reporting.

In the news release, the coroner labeled the death as "suspicious."
