UPDATE: Chief Deputy Coroner Gary Vannatta said Wednesday afternoon he had been contacted by family members of James Buckley.

MUNCIE, Ind. — The Delaware County Coroner's Office has asked for the public’s help in finding family members of a local man who died in recent days.

James Phillips, 74, died of natural causes Saturday at his home, according to Gary Vannatta, Delaware County chief deputy coroner.

Efforts to find any survivors of Phillips to this point have been unsuccessful. According to Vannatta, he might have family members in Jay or Randolph counties, and is also believed to have a son named Matthew Phillips.

Anyone with information on survivors of Phillips is asked to call the coroner's office at 765-747-7724. A voicemail message can be left if the call is made when the office is not staffed.
