Couple arrested following Loranger drug bust

LORANGER, La. (WGNO) — A Loranger couple was arrested on July 29 following an investigation that led to the discovery of several different kinds of drugs which were allegedly in their possession.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, after receiving a complaint about suspicious activity, detectives with the sheriff’s office’s narcotics team began a surveillance operation, observing 40-year-old Corey Cook and 30-year-old Quenesha Jackson at a home on Milk Road.
The operation led to a traffic stop, during which Cook was arrested after law enforcement personnel allegedly found a gun in his possession along with several pill bottles containing drugs such as hydrocodone and Xanax.
A search warrant was then issued for the home in Loranger where detectives had been observing the couple. During the search, detectives allegedly found Jackson, while in the presence of the couple’s two children, trying to get rid of drugs that included crystal meth and Soboxone. Two guns were also found during the search.

Cook and Jackson were booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail for possession with intent to distribute schedule II and III narcotics, two counts of illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a minor, drug paraphernalia and possession of weapons while in possession of CDS, for which Cook is charged on two counts. Jackson was also changed with one count of obstruction of justice.
The couple’s two children were turned over into the custody of a relative.
