Crews find ‘light hoarder conditions’ while battling fire at NW Portland commercial building

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland fire crews took care of a fire at a Northwest Portland strip mall early Monday morning, authorities said.

According to Portland Fire & Rescue, they responded to the scene just after 5:30 and firefighters quickly searched the building for anyone inside.

Crews were eventually able to knock down the flames which officials believe started in a vent shaft and damaged an HVAC unit on the roof.

Authorities said there was evidence of “light hoarder conditions” inside the building.
