CRRUA: Arsenic treatment facilities meet federal guidelines

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) released its latest arsenic water sample tests on Monday, July 15, where all arsenic treatment facilities have met federal guidelines, the utility said in a press release.

The CRRUA says the federal limit is 10 parts per billion (ppb) and it has provided the arsenic test results for July which are the following:

The utility also says its latest arsenic test results follow a 100 percent decrease in the number of calls from customers for discolored water.

“Calls went from 28 in February when tracking began to zero in June, a decline of 100% in just five months,” the utility said.

CRRUA has also provided data regarding the number of calls they received over the last five months due to discolored water. That data is the following:

“These results represent factual evidence of the positive results CRRUA is achieving in its systematic efforts to continue providing safe water and reliable service to the residents of Sunland Park and Santa Teresa,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby.
