CRRUA: Zero calls from customers for discolored water in July
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) says it received zero calls from customers for discolored water for the month of July.
The CRRUA says it received no calls from customers in June and July for discolored water and also provided a table of data for the last six months. That table is the following:
Month/Year | Number of Calls |
February 2024 | 28 |
March 2024 | 20 |
April 2024 | 07 |
May 2024 | 01 |
June 2024 | 0 |
July 2024 | 0 |
The CRRUA says causes of water discoloration include “water line breaks and hydrant flushes that disturb naturally occurring sediments that accumulate over time.”
“We received zero customer calls for discolored water in July,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby. “This is on top of zero calls in June. These positive results demonstrate that we at CRRUA continue to be successful in providing clean, safe water and reliable service to our customers.”
CRRUA provides water and wastewater service to Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The utility has been under fire about water quality issues and water discoloration issues for months. Some residents have told KTSM the problems have gone back years.
