ASHEVILLE - A cyclist was struck and killed just after 10 p.m. Nov. 11 on Patton Avenue, according to Asheville Police Department spokesperson Samantha Booth.

The incident took place near the 840 block of Patton Avenue, which is on the eastbound side near the I-240 interchange, "involving a cyclist and vehicle."

Booth told the Citizen Times the cyclist's next of kin has not yet been notified and no other details about the driver or the victim are yet available.

In a separate traffic accident on Nov. 10, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle the evening of Nov. 10, at about 6:18 p.m., Booth said.

"The pedestrian was walking across the intersection of Hendersonville Road and Airport Road when they were struck by a vehicle," Booth told the Citizen Times the morning of Nov. 12. "The pedestrian was transported to Mission Hospital in critical condition. At this point in time, the driver has not been charged and patrol officers are still investigating the collision."
