Daily Digit: An overwhelming majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the country’s health care system
Daily Digit is the story behind the numbers that make our world work. Today we’re looking at America’s health care system. According to a new study, only 34% of Americans approve of the U.S. health care system, and nearly 80% are dissatisfied with the cost of health care. Americans also feel access to health care is an urgent problem. While the Affordable Care Act helped with access, it didn’t stop the cost inflation. Most Americans say Republican attempts to weaken the law made health care the most important issue of the 2018 midterms. The study notes that House Democrats plan to make health care reform a priority, but only time will tell if the two parties can find a solution.
