Danville invites community to pedestrian safety meeting tonight
DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A meeting to discuss improvements along a busy street in Danville will take place Thursday evening.

Community Development Administrator Logan Cronk said the City of Danville is planning to apply for multi-million-dollar grant which would be used to improve pedestrian traffic safety along East Voorhees Street.
The City said census data showed there is a need for improved pedestrian safety along the street. They have found that many individuals walk to work, and there is a large number of people who are employed around East Voorhees.

Danville will apply for the grant through the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program this year. Before that, however, they are interested in hearing from members of the public.
The public meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the Danville Public Works building.
