KHP identifies teen killed in Leavenworth County head-on crash with semi
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the person killed in a crash Monday morning in Leavenworth County as a 17-year-old boy from Atchison.
The crash was reported just after 11:10 a.m. on U.S. 73, near Lowermont Road.
KHP said the teenager was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry and was traveling north on U.S. 73 when he drove across the center line and struck a semi head on.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as Caleb James Stricker. He was wearing a seat belt, according to KHP.
The driver of the semi was reported to have minor injuries.
Benedictine College in Atchison released a statement Tuesday saying “The Benedictine College community is saddened by the sudden loss of Caleb Stricker, an incoming freshman who died today in the Atchison area. Please pray for the repose of his soul and keep the family in your prayers during this very tragic time.”
