The 3rd District includes Millcreek and Fairview townships.

The lifelong Democrat is an Edinboro University graduate with degrees in political science and criminal justice.  He also earned a master's degree in public administration from Gannon University.

Bizzarro previously worked as a behavioral health specialist for Erie's public schools. He unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for state treasurer in April's primary election.

Bizzarro said he sought another term in office “because I'm not done. We haven't raised worker pay or delivered paid family leave for working parents. We haven't made it easier for young people to afford their piece of the American Dream with my home ownership bill that passed the House. There are more jobs to create, kids to fight for, and people to help.”

Goring, 46, is a vending business owner who lives in Fairview.

According to his campaign website, Goring was born in Indonesia to missionary parents. He was raised in Indonesia and the Philippines, and attended the United States Air Force Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

He worked in a communications unit based in Japan during his Air Force service, and later served at a communications center and as an Air Force Liaison in Washington, D.C. Goring said he ran for the 3rd District seat because he believes state government needs more legislators who are “regular folks just like you and me who understand the impact that laws and regulations have on working people.”
