Denver just hit 100 degrees after a nearly 700-day streak
DENVER (KDVR) — Denver officially hit 100 degrees for the first time in 2024 on Tuesday, breaking a 690-day streak without triple-digit heat, according to the National Weather Service.
Summer 2024 has been a scorcher in the Mile High City so far, with several days of 90-degree-or-higher high temperatures in June and a few days where the high approached 100 degrees.

However, with as hot as it has been lately, Denver had yet to pass 100 degrees until Tuesday, having come just one degree short on June 17 with a high of 99, according to official records.
Before Tuesday, it had actually been quite a long time since Denverites have dealt with anything over 99 degrees.
When was the last time Denver hit 100 degrees?
Denver did not hit 100 degrees at any point in 2023, but it did hit the mark quite a few times in 2022, the last time being in August of that year:
Aug. 5, 2022 – 101 degrees
July 18, 2022 – 100 degrees
July 10, 2022 – 101 degrees
July 9, 2022 – 100 degrees
June 11, 2022 – 100 degrees
That means that, as of June 25, it was 690 days since Denver officially recorded a high of 100 degrees or higher.

A few major things have gone on in Denver’s popular culture since temperatures that high graced the Mile High City.

Denver has also elected a new mayor, Mike Johnston, since then, and received its first Michelin stars.
