Decatur Morgan Hospital-EMS

On Wednesday, Decatur Morgan Hospital-EMS told News 19 that the ambulance had a mechanical failure.

EMS officials said the ambulance was purchased last month with about 17,000 miles already on it, and it was serviced before being placed into operation “without any identified issues.”

Morgan County Coroner Jeffrey Chunn said the two-year-old child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The family has created a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses for the child.
