Disney's 'Descendants' Trailer: Who's the Baddest One of All?

The wait is over! Descendants, the highly anticipated modern-day fairy tale about the teen offspring of Disney’s most notorious villains, is set to debut this summer on Disney Channel, and up until now, we’ve only had teasers and shadowy sneak peeks at the characters. But the network has now released the first official trailer for the upcoming live-action adventure, and we can confirm it was definitely worth the wait.

The full-length trailer for the Kenny Ortega-directed TV flick officially introduces us to Jay, Carlos, Mal, and Evvie (played by Booboo Stewart, Cameron Boyce, Dove Cameron, and Sofia Carson, respectively), a group of troublemaking teens who are at their best when doing their worst. Of course, they’ve learned from the best, because these kids are the spawn of iconic Disney villains Jafar (Maz Jobrani), Cruella de Vil (Wendy Raquel Robinson), Maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth), and the Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy). In this case, the apple definitely doesn’t fall far from the tree.

When this new generation of degenerates are ordered to go to a new prep school in a faraway kingdom that is usually reserved for goody two-shoes types (the kids of Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, and Mulan are just a few of their future classmates), they balk at the idea of living in a land of prissy pink princesses. And then there’s that whole dress code thing: “I don’t do uniforms,” bad boy Jay announces in the clip.
