Shortly after a judge in Lansing, Mich., sentenced Larry Nassar to 40 to 175 years in prison on Wednesday for molesting gymnasts and other athletes, the Detroit Free Press began tweeting the names of the former Michigan State University sports doctor’s victims — 155 of them.
“These are the names of the survivors who came forward the past several days to deliver impact statements against former MSU doctor Larry Nassar,” the newspaper explained. “Because of their bravery and courage, Nassar will spend the rest of his life behind bars.”
“It is worth noting that there are other survivors beyond this list that, understandably, chose to stay silent,” the Free Press added.

Nassar pleaded guilty to assaulting seven women, but more than 160 accusers — including Olympians Aly Raisman, Jordyn Wieber and McKayla Maroney — delivered statements at the weeklong sentencing hearing, often describing the abuse in graphic detail. Some of the women said Nassar, who for years worked as the top sports doctor for USA Gymnastics, penetrated them with his ungloved hands while their parents were in the room.
“I just signed your death warrant,” Judge Rosemarie Aquilina told Nassar before delivering his sentence. “It is my honor and privilege to sentence you. You do not deserve to walk outside a prison ever again.”
