The jail that Diddy is currently being held in is now under federal investigation. Associated Press reports that Bureau of Prisons investigators and other law enforcement dropped in on Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on Monday (Oct. 28), where the agencies plan to look into the institute’s alleged poor conditions in an “interagency operation.”

In a statement to the outlet, Bureau of Prisons investigators stated that the “interagency operation” is “designed to achieve our shared goal of maintaining a safe environment for both our employees and the incarcerated individuals housed at MDC Brooklyn.”

The outlet reports that the feds previously charged nine inmates, stemming from a series of brutal attacks in the facility. Additionally, a correctional officer was charged after it was found that they “shot at a car during an unauthorized high-speed chase.”

As the jail faces increased scrutiny over the conditions and alleged questionable safety protocols, the agency plans for their operation to work as “an effort to maintain the safety and security of all personnel inside the facility and the integrity of this operation.

AP reports that inmates housed at the facility have often complained about the violence, staff shortages, drug smuggling, and inadequate living conditions for months. Prisoners claimed that frequent lockdowns had been implemented in the jail, preventing them from exercising, showering, and more.

As of Monday (Oct. 28), Sean Combs remains behind bars at the Brooklyn jail in question. The feds have asserted that the troubled mogul must stay in a Brooklyn jail until his May 5, 2025, court date. Shortly after his arrest, the disgraced mogul was put on suicide watch, with People reporting that Combs “is in shock and his mental state is unclear.”

However, Marc Agnifilo, Sean Combs’ attorney, insisted that his client is fine, telling TMZ that Combs is “not at all suicidal” and that he is “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense.” Agnifilo also opened up about his client’s jail conditions, describing them as “horrific” in a court filing asking for Combs’ release on bail.
