Diddy Refuses To Enter Plea Bargain, His Attorney Says
Diddy truly believes he’s innocent in his sex trafficking case. During a recent appearance in TMZ’s The Downfall of Diddy: Indictment documentary, Sean Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, speaks on his client.
He urges that he and Combs will fight to prove his innocence, with the fallen mogul refusing to take a plea bargain in his case. Agnifilo insists that the high-profile case isn’t just for Diddy but for other people seemingly being prosecuted just like him.
The lawyer states that Diddy will be using the case to help inspire others facing unfair government persecution and show his family that he isn’t who the feds painted him out to be.
Elsewhere in the documentary, Marc Agnifilo spoke of his client’s indictment and said Combs looks forward to testifying in court. Sean Combs is expected to be cross-examined during the trial over incidents including the infamous Cassie video and the eyebrow-raising “Freak Offs.”
Agnifilo acknowledges that there is a risk to Diddy taking the stand, but he feels Combs is the best suited to defend himself. The outlet reports the lawyer added that Combs’ story is one of “love, hurt, and heartbreak.”
In the documentary preview, Agnifilo addresses Diddy’s baby oil and lubricant being seized from his home. The detention memo for Sean Combs’ case reports that 1,000 bottles of both products were confiscated from his premises, which Agnifilo isn’t too sure about. “I don’t know where the number 1,000 came from,” the lawyer says. “I can’t imagine its thousands… [I’m] not really sure what the baby oil has to do with anything.” Regarding the question of why Diddy would have an obscene amount of lubricant and baby oil, the attorney said, “He has a big house, [so] he buys in bulk.”
Sean Combs was arrested on Monday (Sept. 16), with prosecutors hitting him with a RICO charge and charges of sex trafficking. The mogul has been held behind bars in a Brooklyn jail since his arrest and has been denied bail twice after entering a not-guilty plea.
A specific date for Diddy’s trial has yet to be revealed.
