Diddy Set To Testify In Court For His Criminal Case, Lawyer Says
Diddy is determined to prove his innocence in court, and is willing to take the stand to do so.
Sean Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, will appear in TMZ’s documentary, The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, with the outlet offering a sneak peek of what’s in store. Agnifilo spoke of his client’s indictment and said Combs looks forward to testifying in court. Diddy is expected to be cross-examined over incidents he’ll have to answer for, including the infamous Cassie video and the eye-brow-raising “Freak Offs.”
Agnifilo acknowledges that there is a risk to Diddy taking the stand, but he feels Combs is the best suited to defend himself. The outlet reports that the lawyer added that Combs’ story is one of “love, hurt and heartbreak.”
In the documentary preview, Agnifilo addresses Diddy’s baby oil and lubricant being seized from his home. The detention memo for Sean Combs’ case reports that 1,000 bottles of both products were confiscated from his premises, which Agnifilo isn’t too sure about. “I don’t know where the number 1,000 came from,” the lawyer says. “I can’t imagine its thousands…[I’m] not really sure what the baby oil has to do with anything”
Speaking as to why Diddy would have an ungodly amount of lubricant and baby oil, the lawyer says, “he has a big house, he buys in bulk.”
Sean Combs was arrested on Monday (Sept. 16), with prosecutors hitting him with a RICO charge and charges of sex trafficking. The mogul has been held behind bars in a Brooklyn jail since his arrest and has been denied bail twice after entering a not-guilty plea.
As reports of the jail’s “inhumane” conditions began to roll out, People stated that the businessman had been placed on suicide watch. Sources close to Diddy’s camp claimed that he “is in shock and his mental state is unclear.”
However, Agnifilo insisted that his client is fine, telling TMZ that Combs is “not at all suicidal” and that he is “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense.”
A specific date for Diddy’s trial has yet to be revealed.
