DNC convention kicks off in Chicago. Here's who'll speak this week and how to watch

Politicians are headed to Chicago this week for the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

Along with paying tribute to outgoing President Joe Biden, several heavyweights are expected to speak — including Barack Obama and the Clintons. And Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is scheduled to speak on Monday night.

What time does the DNC start? Where is the 2024 DNC?

The DNC is scheduled to run August 19-22 at the United Center in Chicago.

Who's speaking at the DNC?

President Joe Biden is scheduled to speak during primetime on Monday, along with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who will deliver a welcome address.

Other speakers scheduled to appear include former President Bill Clinton; former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker; former President Barack Obama; Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg; Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer; House Minority Leader Hakeen Jeffries; Vice President Kamala Harris; and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

  • 7-9:30 a.m.: Delegation breakfasts

  • 9-10a.m.: Morning press briefing

  • 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Black Caucus meeting

  • 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Hispanic Caucus meeting

  • 9:30-11:30 a.m.: AAPI Caucus meeting

  • 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Native American Caucus meeting

  • 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Ethnic Council meeting

  • Noon-1:30 p.m.: LGBTQ+ Caucus meeting

  • Noon-1:30 p.m.: Small Business Council meeting

  • Noon-1:30 p.m.: Labor Council meeting

  • 1:45-3:15 p.m.: Environmental & Climate Crisis Council meeting

How to watch and stream the 2024 DNC

The convention will air live on its website, from the United Center in Chicago between 6:15 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern (5:15 p.m. to 10 p.m Central) on Monday, and 7 p.m to 11 p.m. Eastern (6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Central) the other days.

USA TODAY will provide livestream coverage on YouTube each night of the DNC, Monday through Thursday.
