Doctor Who season 15 spoilers follow.

Former Coronation Street star Charlie Condou is joining the cast of Doctor Who.

According to the Radio Times, Condou will have an undisclosed role in the science fiction show's 15th season, where he'll star alongside Ncuti Gatwa, Millie Gibson and new companion Varada Sethu. The BBC has not commented on Condou's casting.

Condou is best known for spending several years in Weatherfield as sonographer Marcus Dent, a former love interest of Coronation Street mainstay Sean Tully (Antony Cotton).

After leaving the cobbles in 2014, Condou joined Holby City as surgeon Ben Sherwood between 2019 and 2020. He was part of a major storyline where his character Ben came out as gay.

A few years back, Condou spoke about the difficulties of finding work after he originally left Coronation Street.
