Doctor Who stars tease "scan dals" in Regency episode with Jonathan Groff
Doctor Who's new lead duo Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson have teased the upcoming Regency episode, stating that it's quite the scandal.
At a press Q&A session that Digital Spy attended, Ruby Sunday actor Millie was asked which era of human history she was most excited to visit in season 14, and she explained that it was the Regency period.
"We have Jonathan Groff in it, for God's sake," she said. "It's incredible.
"So many things happen in that episode, and it's filled with so much. We kind of go off on our own.

"But it was cool, because you know what best friends would do, they'd travel to the Regency era and then be like, 'I'm gonna go find a scandal and just go off.' So yeah, that was my favourite episode for sure."
"It definitely captured their cheekiness because they both go off and have these separate scandals," new Doctor actor Ncuti Gatwa added. "It's a lot of fun."
Showrunner Russell T Davies previously teased that the episode, which is the sixth episode of the season, also features Indira Varma as a villain called The Duchess.

"Indira really leaned into it," he said. "She kind of looks like a lady at the manor — she looks very privileged, posh, haughty, smart and aloof. And then oh my god she lets rip and runs and fights and is completely wonderful, so that was a joy to see."
Other big guest stars for the upcoming season include RuPaul's Drag Race star Jinkx Monsoon (playing a baddie called The Maestro), and Strictly Come Dancing's Shirley Ballas and Johannes Radebe.
Doctor Who will return for its 14th series on May 11 at midnight, airing on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
