Donald Trump to appear on Lex Fridman podcast, latest in interviews with influencers

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump spoke with podcaster Lex Fridman in an interview that is set to air Tuesday afternoon.

Fridman, an MIT researcher, posted on X Sunday with a picture of Trump saying, "this happened," and teasing the podcast release at 1 p.m. eastern Tuesday.

The Lex Fridman Podcast is promoted as "conversations about the nature of intelligence, consciousness, love and power." Fridman has hosted other right-wing guests on the show including Jared Kushner, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Tucker Carlson, according to Vulture.

The Trump campaign confirmed the appearance with USA TODAY.

Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' campaign has leaned on content creators and influencers to reach voters across the internet. So has Trump, who has spoken with internet personalities on various unique streaming platforms.

Throughout August, Trump spoke with a number of male internet personalities across internet streaming services.

In early August, Trump appeared on video game streamer Adin Ross's livestream on Kick, after he was banned from Twitch in February 2023. At the interview, Trump was gifted a Rolex watch and a Cybertruck wrapped in a photo of the July 13 assassination attempt.

Shortly after, Trump spoke with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in a live interview on X, which saw some technical difficulties at the start.

Recently, Trump spoke with actor, comedian and former reality TV star Theo Von on his podcast, where they talked about the host's drug and alcohol use among a variety of other topics.
