Donald Trump to make campaign stop in Asheville; where and how to get tickets

ASHEVILLE - Former President Donald Trump will be making a campaign stop in Asheville on Wednesday, Aug. 14, he announced on his website.

Trump will appear at Harrah's Cherokee Center, 87 Haywood St., in downtown Asheville. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and he is expected to speak at 4 p.m. about the economy.

Trump "will deliver remarks on the economic hardships created by the Harris-Biden Administration in Asheville, North Carolina," his announcement reads in part.

"Hard-working Americans are suffering because of the Harris-Biden Administration’s dangerously liberal policies. Prices are excruciatingly high, and the cost of living has soared — leaving those on a fixed-income, unsure of how they are going to afford a basic standard of living in the future. Since Kamala Harris and Joe Biden took office, prices in North Carolina have risen over 21% and families have spent an astonishing $24,937 since 2021," the announcement said.

"President Trump wants to ban tax on Social Security for seniors and he will Make America Great Again by reintroducing common-sense economic policies, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and reversing the effects of failed Democrat induced inflation — putting money back in the pockets of hard-working Americans across the country!"

Trump made an appearance in the same venue - which was then known as the U.S. Cellular Center - in 2016 when he was campaigning for the presidency against Hillary Clinton.

Trump and his vice presidential running mate JD Vance will face off in November against Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Mike Walz.

Tickets are available first-come, first-served on the Trump website at www.donaldjtrump.com.
