Donald Trump to hold Milwaukee rally at Fiserv Forum, site of the RNC, days before election

Just days before the Nov. 5 election, former President Donald Trump plans to hold a rally at Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee.

Trump will return 7 p.m. Nov. 1 to the downtown arena where he formally accepted the nomination to run for a second term in the White House during the Republican National Convention in July.

He is expected to make an economic pitch to voters.

"The movement to put Americans first is resonating with voters, even in deep blue Milwaukee, and is exactly why Wisconsin will flip red for the Trump-Vance ticket," the campaign said in a statement announcing the visit.

The visit comes as Trump and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris are locked in a tight race for the presidency, including in Wisconsin.

The swing state is considered important to win on the road to the White House, and both campaigns have been crisscrossing Wisconsin in the final weeks before the election.

Trump was last in Wisconsin on Oct. 6 for a rally at the Dodge County Airport and is expected to deliver remarks Wednesday evening at the Resch Center in the Green Bay suburb of Ashwaubenon.

He was last in the liberal bastions of Dane County and Milwaukee earlier this month.

The events came after top state Republicans, including former Gov. Tommy Thompson, urged the Trump campaign to include those communities in its efforts to win Wisconsin. As the state's two largest population centers, Dane and Milwaukee counties are also home to a lot of Republicans due to their sheer size.

Harris, too, has made her presence known in Wisconsin. She was in the state Monday night for a campaign event in Brookfield, where she was joined by former Republican U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney to make a pitch to undecided voters.

Former President Barack Obama was in Madison this week on the first day of in-person early voting in the state. Along with Harris' vice-presidential running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Obama made the case for Harris and against Trump.
