Donald Trump to visit Michigan again on Thursday. This time, it's Potterville

Michigan's importance to the Trump campaign was reinforced Saturday when former President Donald Trump announced he will make his eighth visit to Michigan this year, scheduling an event in Eaton County Thursday.

Trump, who is already scheduled to visit Detroit on Monday to address a conference of the National Guard Association of the United States, said he will visit Alro Steel, a metals service center in Potterville, to discuss the economy, inflation and manufacturing.

Meanwhile, Trump's running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, is to visit Big Rapids Tuesday, in Mecosta County, in what will be his fourth visit to Michigan since Trump chose him as his running mate in July.

Michigan is one of a handful of battleground states expected to decide the Nov. 5 election between Trump and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, who officially accepted her party's nomination Thursday at a Chicago convention.
