If you donate blood this week, you could win a concert ticket or a TV — Here’s how
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — If you donate blood through ARUP Blood Services from July 1 through July 5, you will be entered to win a wide range of incentives.
Some of the prizes include an Apple Watch, a $200 Visa gift card, a “retro record player,” a Ninja Creami, or a 55-inch smart TV — and one winner will be announced each day of the week, according to a press release.

Utahns who donate platelets for the first time in July will be entered to win concert tickets through ARUP.
“Platelets only last five days at the hospital and we are always looking for new and dedicated platelet donors,” Deb Jordan of ARUP Blood Services said.
The concert tickets that first-time platelet donors will be entered to win will be for Neil Young, The Doobie Brothers, Def Leppard, Rob Zombie, Lainey Wilson, or ZZ Top and Lynrd Skynyrd, according to a press release.
“Our annual ‘Rock & Roll Up Your Sleeve’ promotion is a great way for new platelet donors to save lives and help cancer patients at the Huntsman Cancer Institute,” Jordan said.
ARUP said donations often drop during the summer because schools are out and people may be out traveling. The organization also said local demand at hospitals is outpacing donations.
“Donors are strongly urged to give now to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available for patients,” ARUP said.
ARUP Blood Services said all of the blood and platelet donations it collects stay in Utah.
You can schedule an appointment by visiting UtahBlood.org or calling 801-584-5272. ARUP also said it welcomes walk-in appointments.
ARUP Blood Services has two donor centers — one in Salt Lake City and one in Sandy — and is open seven days a week.
The Salt Lake City donation center is located at 565 Komas Dr. Salt Lake City, UT 84108. The Sandy location is located at 9786 Sandy Parkway (500 West) Sandy, UT 84070.
