Door County Sheriff’s Office: Deputy “euthanized” loose pig roaming county for several days

DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – After responding to several complaints and capture attempts, deputies in Door County say they “euthanized” the loose pig that was roaming the area for several days.

In a brief press release from the Door County Sheriff’s Office, it says that the agency will be reviewing reports and evidence after a deputy had “euthanized a pig that had been on the loose for several days.”

The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. on Friday, September 20. The location was not provided.

Deputies stated that “this complaint is in relation to several other complaints they had received relating to the loose pig.”

The Door County Sheriff’s Office will be reviewing reports, including deputy and witness accounts, along with body camera over the next several days. We will further update the public with more information once we have a chance to gather all the information.
